Jennifer Montgomery is the Director of Human Trafficking Education and Outreach in the Office of Kansas Attorney General Derek Schmidt. On Thursday, Jan. 14, at noon, she'll be giving a live presentation to Kansas communities in recognition of January being acknowledged as Human Trafficking Awareness Month. She'll give an overview of Kansas statistics regarding human, sex, and labor trafficking within the state, characteristics of victims and traffickers, techniques used for recruiting, and red flags to watch for.

In addition to serving in the Kansas Attorney's office, Jennifer also chairs the Kansas Human Trafficking Advisory Board; is President of Freedom's Path, an anti-human trafficking nonprofit organization affiliated with the Topeka Rescue Mission; and, was recently selected from a pool of global candidates as a 2021 Rotary International Peace Fellow. She is an author and has provided presentations and training on human trafficking to healthcare professionals, law enforcement officers, school administrators, members of the business community, students, faith communitieis, nonprofit leaders, and the general public.

Through her life experience and professional work, Jennifer is a passionate advocate for women and youth who have experienced sexual abuse and expoitation.
